Hospital honors Bervaldi, DeLong, Driscoll,

Lower Keys Medical Center recently announced nurse Carly Bervaldi, Daina DeLong and Tim Driscoll were named "Getting 2 Great" associates for July 2012.

Bervaldi, a nurse in the ambulatory surgery department, has been a patient favorite with her caring demeanor, according to a press release that states, "Aside from her impeccable bedside manner, [Bervaldi] has strong clinical skills that ensure all of her patients' needs are met."

DeLong is a sonographer who interacts with inpatient, outpatient and emergency room patients. The hospital could not ask for a better ambassador of its services, the release states. Patient surveys have said, "Daina is always upbeat and has a comforting effect on your patients, often helping them though an uncertain time."

Driscoll, in the security department, often works behind the scenes, but his efforts are essential to the smooth operation of the hospital, the release states, adding, "At any given time he can be found keeping the peace with our patients and visitors, assisting on a patient watch or manning the courier route."

First State promotes Briening

First State Bank of the Florida Keys announced the promotion of Shane Briening to commercial lender/credit analyst.

Briening joined First State Bank in 2006 as a teller, he transferred to the loan department in 2007 where he held various positions including before being promoted to credit analyst II in 2010. Briening has also completed accredited RMA courses in Financial Statements.

Originally from southern New Jersey, Briening earned degrees in professional/secondary education and history from East Stroudsburg University.

Aqueduct recognizes employees

The Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority recently recognized Tara Davila and Jolynn Reynolds each for 20 years of employment with the agency, and Juliette Torres was recognized for being nominated by her co-workers as Employee of the 2nd Quarter.

Davila started her career as a clerk typist receptionist and was quickly promoted to a customer service representative and then executive secretary. She is currently a Human Resources specialist.

Reynolds started in the Engineering Department and is currently an associate engineer.

Torres has been employed with FKAA for 30 years and is currently the billing and records manager.

DeRolf is newest rotary member

Key Largo Rotary recently welcomed Jeannie DeRolf as its newest member. She has more than 25 years of real estate experience, managing a Broward County Real Estate office and owning and managing the New River Mortgage Co. After living in Broward County most of her life DeRolf and her husband bought a weekend home in Key Largo six years ago. She now resides there as a permanent resident, working as a Realtor.

In her spare time, Jeannie enjoys boating, fishing and tennis and is also a member of the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce, the Florida Keys Board of Realtors and the Coral Shores High School Advisory Committee.
