KEY WEST -- A man was detained and mentally evaluated for his own safety Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly threatened to shoot people at an Old Town restaurant, according to an employee and police.

The man, whose name was not available Wednesday, did not have any weapons and there were no reported injuries, said police spokeswoman Alyson Crean.
