Cleared teacher resigns
Wins fight against spanking allegation; accepts settlement

A Monroe County teacher accused of spanking a 5-year-old special needs student in December has agreed to a settlement and is likely to resign, despite her successful fight of an administrative push to fire her, according to School District attorneys.

SCHOOL BOARD: "I DON'T KNOW HOW WE GOT HERE..."

That is just the problem, this board is clueless. They are supposed to be advised by "counsel." Look at how much "counsel" has racked up in fees for this and other cases involving employees the school board went after and lost.

ANOTHER SCREWUP BY SCHOOL BOARD

Another incident of mismanagement and anminosity towards teachers by the Monroe County School Board members and their bounty dogs. To proscecute, discipline and destroy this teacher's reputation is terrible. How much more do the voters have to take before they realize that these long term Board Members have lost all perspective and must be removed. Dandy Andy Griffiths is a perfect example - 20 years of failed leadership and yet people want to give him another chance.

It SHOULD Be about Education NOT Keeping a job...

"She had previously worked with high school kids and students in third to fifth grades." --- WHEN administrators don't look outside the box and just keep pushing your friends and family into situations where they're not skilled for the job, this is what happens. Start looking for the right people for the job and instead of just trying to keep them employed.
