Centennial promotes Mendez

Centennial Bank recently promoted Raquel Mendez to assistant branch manager. Mendez joined Centennial Bank as a customer service representative during the transition of the former Key West Bank to the Centennial Bank brand.

A native of Key West, Mendez is a graduate of Key West High School and a mother of two.

Keys Federal welcomes three

Keys Federal Credit Union recently announced the addition of a new IT administrator and two new customer service employees.

Tim Lindsey, information technology administrator, held various IT jobs over the past 15 years, with a focus on the hospitality and computer industry, according to a press release from the credit union.

The credit union also recently welcomed member service representatives Nina Barnes and Khurshida "Shida" Gulyamova.

Barnes is a Texas native with more than 20 years of financial services experience, according to a press release.

Gulyamova, originally from Uzbekistan had always dreamed of working in the banking industry, and her bilingual skills are an asset, the release states.

Rotary official visits Key Largo

Ted Eldredge, district governor for South Florida Rotary clubs, recently visited the Key Largo Rotary and provided a state-of-the-district update. Eldredge serves District 6990, which covers Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties as well as Grand Bahamas. Key Largo Rotary meets at 7:30 a.m. Wednesdays at Coconuts.

First State honors employee milestones

First State Bank of the Florida Keys recently recognized Breanna Escobio and Mariuska Suri on their fifth anniversary of employment with the bank.

Escobio, a Key West native and teller at the main office, joined the bank in 2007 and is a graduate of Key West High School.

Suri, lead teller in the Stock Island office, grew up in Cuba and joined the bank in 2007. She was promoted to lead teller in 2010.
