


Thomas Clifton Pollgreen II
Our Old Man and the Sea - Thomas Clifton Pollgreen II departed this life on Oct. 10, 2012. Thomas was born in 1930 in Pasadena, Calif., the son of Thomas and Georgia. As a U.S. Navy submariner, sonar specialist, and chief petty officer, Thomas traveled the world, settling in Key West, Fla. After he retired from the Navy, he built a second career on the ocean as a lobster fisherman. Later, after moving to Central Florida, Thomas began a third career as owner of a greenhouse, where he grew spider plants and several exotic plants. He loved church, country and family, and enjoyed volunteering his time in the community during the holidays.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Margie Rose; five children: Bertha, Susan, Thomas III, Shawn and Lori Ann; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother Larry; and sisters Jeanne and Clara.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at West Orlando Baptist Church, 1006 Crown Point Road, Ocoee, Fla. Other arrangements are under the direction of the Neptune Society, Kissimmee, Fla.
