Davidson wins recount of razor-thin School Board race

Dive shop owner Ed Davidson was declared the official winner in the School Board District 3 race late Friday night over former Principal John Welsh after an all-day recount of the razor-thin election.

Davidson won by 216 votes, taking 16,362 to Welsh's 16,146, according to Supervisor of Elections-elect Joyce Griffin, who announced the numbers at 10:20 p.m.

Ed Davidson

I am glad I met Ed Davidson. He will be an advocate for the students and the taxpayer. He will be a gainst the old boy system and make dicisions for the best interest of the students not the powerful adults behind the scenes of public education system.

This is a perfect example for anyone who thinks their vote doesn't count!

Davidson Wins / Welsh Loses

I am sure both candidates worked very hard during their campaigns and certainly can point to several factors that could have determined the winner. Welsh, stay of floats during the KWHS Homecoming Parade. Who's idea was that? The HS Prin should not have allowed that to happen. OH.. it was HER idea. Ed, now that you were elected, lose the hat.

Hope he realizes, and gets

Hope he realizes, and gets the point across, that what is really needed to make better students is not more TAX money but a whole lot more parental involvement in their children's homelife.
