Janet Ranger Tardiff

Janet Ranger Tardiff died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Fairfield, Maine, and lived in Boston and Syracuse before moving to Skaneateles in 1954. Her appreciation of this beautiful town led her to a long and successful career in real estate convincing others that they, too, would love living in the Finger Lakes. She and her business partner, Grace Snook, owned Williams Realty for over 40 years. She also enjoyed volunteering for the Skaneateles Historical Society and taking winter trips to Key West, Fla. She is survived by her longtime companion, Bruce Keller; brother, Orville "Tex" Ranger and his wife, Sue, of Brunswick, Maine; daughter, Susan Weekley (Jimmy) of Key West; sons, Alan Tardiff (Patty) of Avon by the Sea, N.J., and Paul Tardiff (Chris) of Skaneateles; and her grandchildren, Dakin Weekley, Joe Tardiff, Michaela Tardiff, Alyssa Tardiff and Erica Tardiff. She is also survived by nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for their tremendous care and compassion. Services are private. Donations can be made to Skaneateles Historical Society, 28 Hannum St., Skaneateles, NY 13152. To send condolences visit: www.robertdgrayfuneralhome.com.
