MONROE COUNTY

Click it or Ticket -- now

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is participating in the statewide "Click it or Ticket" crackdown on those not wearing seat belts through Nov. 25.

There is extra enforcement throughout the Florida Keys during this time.

Florida law requires drivers and passengers in the front seat of a vehicle to fasten their safety belts.

Passengers under the age of 18, regardless of where they sit in a vehicle, also must buckle up.

Deputies can pull drivers now specifically for not wearing a seat belt and issue a $116 ticket.
