Night roadwork planned

Night work on the portion of North Roosevelt Boulevard at the entrance to the Naval Air Station's Sigsbee Park housing is planned for Nov. 26 through Dec. 10, says the Florida Department of Transportation.

The work will be done from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will be maintained in both directions, despite sections of the entrance periodically being closed for pipe installations that will span the roadway, according to FDOT.

"This will not be a full closure, just a shift in access in and out," the press release from spokesman Dean Walters says. For more information on the project, contact Walters at dean@swcinc.net or 305-849-1474.

More free computer classes

The Key West library, 700 Fleming St., will continue its free, Thursday morning computer classes in December.

Students should be comfortable using a keyboard and mouse and a have a basic familiarity with the Internet. Classes are held 9:45 to 11:30 a.m. in the Reference Department.

Topics are: Dec. 6, desktop computers 101; Dec. 13, navigating, using toolbars in Windows; Dec. 20, using Explorer, websites; Dec. 27, email basics. E-reader one-on-one, drop in sessions also are offered 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

Author holds book-signing

Jill Zima Borski will sign her new book, "Know That I Have Lived," at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, at Hooked on Books, Mile Marker 81.9, oceanside, across from Woody's in Islamorada

Zima Borski is a self-employed writer who lives on Plantation Key. The book, which contains universal themes of curiosity, naivete and self-discovery, is her newly published memoir.
