Arnold Cady, 67, of Sugarloaf Key, Fla., died Friday at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami, Fla. He was born Dec. 23, 1944, to parents Virginia and Edmund Cady (both deceased) in Rochester, N.Y., and grew up in Ulysses, Pa. Arnold is survived by his wife, Melvianne Cady; daughters, Valerie (Dave) Harding of Tampa, Fla.,and Vicky (Allen) McRoberts of Winder, Ga.; grandchildren, Brittany Harding of Tampa, Thomas McRoberts and Cady McRoberts, both of Winder; and a sister, Jeanette (Bill) Butler of Ulysses.

Arnold was a longtime employee of Pratt & Whitney, where he worked as an engineer for 34 years developing jet and rocket engines after graduating from Embry-Riddle University. He loved the Florida Keys, visiting for many years, and retired to live his dream on Sugarloaf.

A celebration of Arnold's life was held Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at his home on Sugarloaf Key. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Arnold Cady to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF). Go to to make donations.
