20 YEARS AGO

Federal officials were able to ban Jet Skis, airboats and hovercraft from wildlife refuges in the Florida Keys under a management agreement approved by the governor.

Key West was building new boat slips in Garrison Bight for Houseboat Row residents, who said they were not moving from South Roosevelt.

Five employees of Sears and two of their husbands were arrested for ordering some $150,000 in goods from the store and doctoring the paperwork to make it look like it was paid for.

Dressmaker ViAnn Youmans had opened a dressmaking and alterations shop in her home at 615 Elizabeth St. She also designed sportswear for Horizons Unlimited.

The Bookshop, at 536 Fleming St., owned by Mr. and Mrs. George Mills White, expanded from a small shop to taking in the shop next-door.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred B. Tykle, formerly of Detroit, purchased the stately old home at 720 Eaton St. The transaction was concluded through the office of Edward B. Knight, Realtor.
