Fake tags have far-reaching impact
Tag scheme might be linked to organized crime; more arrests to follow

State and federal investigators have uncovered a massive international fake spiny-lobster-trap tag scheme in a six-month undercover case with ties to the Keys that officials say could have sweeping impacts on the future of the commercial crawfish fishery.

Seems our esteemed watermen are just as crooked as our esteemed government leaders.

When something becomes too expensive

for the average person , there are going to be knock offs, purses, watches, and clothes have had this problem for years. This is a natural progression when something is artifically overpriced. This is caused by the fisheries managers privitizing our fisheries and selling them to the highest bidder. Creating speculators who drive up prices and put small fishery operators out of business. This doesn't suprise me at all.
