Barrier homes may get power
Commission may settle with residents on No Name Key

Monroe County is considering a lawsuit settlement agreement that would result in changes to county land use rules to allow commercial power and other utilities on the small barrier island of No Name Key and other federal Coastal Barrier Resource System Act zones in the county.

The No Name Key Property Owners Association, which is fighting to bring commercial power there,...

We don't know what the MCC will do.

Because Danny Kohlage ran unopposed we have no idea where he stands on this issue. Considering the political power that Putney has in the County it would be easy to assume he is against Power on no Name Key. Of course we all know what happens when we assume anything. No matter what happens someone is going to be really upset.

Will Cook Island be next?

Will Cook Island be next?

Justice

will prevail!!!!!! But in the Keys that rarely happens.....

When Was Alicia Putney & Slyvia Murply Made Queens of the Keys?

Ms. Putney's local law has been lousy government that has hurt established homes and our citizens for decades. Established homes that want basic utilities, commercial power on No Name (where she lives and where she manufactured this lousy law while a sitting Planning Commissioner and while named in a lawsuit against power) or waste water sewer connection there or in Key Largo. NOT new homes or evil developers seeking growth but people who rightfully want to leverage their solar systems in a modern way (tied to the grid for positive purposes when they are not using what the sun generates) or rid themselves of polluting generators needed to run a/c in the summer or comply with a sewer mandate so as to protect this lovely chain of islands we call home. And she dares speak out against allowing these to good citizens? She is as selfish and as evil as Elphaba, the wicked witch in Oz. She's hurt too many for too long and now that pain has shifted to potentially hurting a hundred or so folks in Key Largo, well into the process of installing sewer and better protecting their slice of paradise. Most reading this were not, of course, at the Special Planning Commission meeting in October, held beause the County, it says, earlier this year issued an eletrical connection permit by 'mistake' for a No Name Key home. To be clear, it was only deemed a "mistake" many months after it was issued when this Ms. Putney learned of the permit and raised HELL with her long time buddy Sylvia Murphy, leading the County to announce that they had made a 'mistake' in issuing it, that they were 'confused', and thus repealed it. In the Planning Commission appeal meeting that followed, a gruelling eight hour invasion of good people's lives, Ms. Putney sat in the front row all day and next to her the whole time was, you guessed it, Slyvia Murphy. So important was supporting her BFF Putney, she shafted the No Namer that long time (too much so?) KEY LARGO Commissioner Murphy could only have been closer to had they sat on each other's laps. During the day's rare break Ms. Murphy vigorously lobbied County Staff over her views, especially including the poor electrical building official, Smith, who actually saw no reason not to issue the permit (how could he?) some months prior. Now Ms. Murphy, in my view, has a very serious and growing discrimination case on her hands, in her back yard, for the good folks on/near State Road 905 in Key Largo. I say it's time for Ms. Murphy to stop the Bubba games of supporting her 'good friend' Putney as to continue to do so will soon, very soon I'd guess, lead to a discrimiantion lawsuit against the County, not just for No Name Key but for those good folk in Key Largo and anywhere else this farce of a 'law' harms, and along the way the incompetance, deceipt and waste between County Commissioners including Murphy (and others), as well as their too friendly ties to FKAA, the power companies, Pirate Putney and more will be exposed for years to come.

No, Ho, Ho...

Wonderful! Here come the Christmas lights!
