Developers, planners compromise
Land-use change on 33-acre parcel could bring box store

wal-mart

If anything Wal-Mart will force other retailers to raise their standards by cleaning and organizing their stores. I think K-Marts computers at the checkout are older than my mom. Everyone will benefit from the tax revenue, the creation of jobs and the bar being raised on the other retailers, just like when Home Depot came to town.

Okay, but...

I promise that if a Wal-Mart is opened on Rockland Key, I will produce and post a Lower Keys sequel to the New Orleans Bounce video within a month.

size limits.........

The County staff is limiting the size of the individual stores because they are trying 'to perserve the community's character'?????? Have they been out there lately. Exactly what 'character' does a porn shop, a nursery, and a quarry. Hello boneheads........ Build a super something out there.

No Walmart

I totally support this project as long as its not a walmart.

Build It

This is a win-win for everyone

Good for everyone but the tax payers.

Good for everyone but the tax payers of Key West or anyone who rents from a tax payer of Key West. The population here can not support the Boulivard shopping area and this new center. Funny how there is no discussion at all of how we will deal with this. Rossi screams daily about 400k from cruise ships. I wonder if he even knows what this tax base represents. It will represent nothing when it is vacant and boarded up. You will be making it up with property taxes and higher rent or sales tax.

win-win for everyone

win-win for everyone, especially China, at the expense of locally run businesses.

OK

Then its a win-win-win situation
