Former local gets Hollywood premier

Former Key Wester Wendy Keeling is the executive producer and co-director of "Just Grate," a film that has been accepted as an official selection for the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival and has been submitted to many film festivals worldwide for consideration.

The film will be screened in Hollywood on Dec. 6, according to a press release about the film.

"Just Grate" is a short film produced for the Nashville 48-Hour Film Project. It's a coming-of-age comedy about a young girl finding love in the midst of a family gathering.

The film won six awards at the Nashville screening and is making the film festival rounds this winter.

Recently Keeling returned to Key West to shoot and produce a reality show called "Key West Vet" about Lisa Bramson and the All Animal Clinic. The web series is scheduled to start after the first of the year and has hopes of being picked up by a network.
