BP oil money up for grabs

With more than $10 billion up for grabs, the Monroe County Commission has hired a private law firm to go after another round of BP money and will hold a workshop Tuesday in Marathon on how to proceed.

Earlier this year, the federal government passed the Restore Act, which diverts fines from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill to states along the Gulf of Mexico.

Maybe they could divert the

Maybe they could divert the funds to the school system so teachers didn't need to violate the class size rules, lose their contracts, and their forced furlough days . I In the long run it is wrong. It is a scam. And all of those involved should have their books investigated.

BOCC should be Embarrassed.

Bogus claims

Thank you for this article with it's clear cut statistics and focused message. My personal business records are much the same as the statistics cited in this article. My tiny business is part of the hospitality industry, and I had record revenues for that period of time. I suspect that the vast majority of my colleagues enjoyed the same circumstances. I know that it's petty of me to experience schadenfreude when I see those that made bogus claims undergo scrutiny, and suffer prosecution, but I just can't help it. Too late. Kleptocracy seems to be the norm these days.

Maybe the county can use the money

to pay for their Galleon bay fiasco? Vivian will love the money.
