Two lawsuits top agenda at BOCC meeting
Power poles installed, however, no wires are attached

The sleepy community of No Name Key will be the focus of Wednesday's Monroe County Commission meeting, as commissioners decide on the next course of action in two high-profile lawsuits.

One lawsuit deals with changing the county's land-use policies to allow commercial power on No Name Key. The other deals with resolving a takings lawsuit that could the cost county $5 mill...

Enough is Enough.

Nothing 'complicated' about the Public Service Commission's interest. They have made it very clear that No Name is entitled to power and that they have jurisdiction (as did the Circuit Court), have seen all of this before including misguided local laws like Putney's many times, and if needed will go to the Supreme Court, as they have before, and get the final ruling. They have never lost. Of course, Ms. Putney wants to keep fighting, her real agenda is to put this all off as long as possible, the rest of her life if possible. Surely she knows her two decade reign of terror and lies has run its course but everyone knows she will not go down without a fight (and spewing more lies). An expert she's NOT. And Derek Howard, is he not a Washington DC based attorney the County pays oodles to, including his plane trips down our way. I am sure he'd like to fight the fight the rest of his life as long as they (us tax payers) pay him the big bucks, plane tickets, room and boarding included to work in paradise. Word on the street is that another lawsuit from No Name is about to land and this one will be a doozy, Federal court seeking damages over discrimination! And do you blame them? End the discrimination. End the lies. End the politics. End the waste of our taxes. Enough is enough.

No further review.

There is no chance the Supreme Court will take the case much less reverse the solid opinion of the 3rd DCA. It is just more money for the lawyers and interest on the judgment. The court has already found liability. The County should settle before it becomes more expensive to do so. The County lost, end of story. Galleon Bay will get to build on No Name Key and trying to keep public utilities off the island is a lost cause and will only result in more wasted taxpayer money. The County Board needs to stop listening to the big mouths with agendas and do what is right for the taxpayers. 99 percent of the citizens, really don't care if there is power on No Name or not, but we aren't will to have out money spent trying to keep it off to please one or two part time residents with big mouths and no sense.

Both the 3rd DCA

and the Supreme Court will refuse to deal with this case any longer...The county's done and on the hook for millions of dollars. The gotminers finally lost one and there's more lawsuits in the queue. Your tax bill will double in the next 5 years....If you move...... please stay out of Hudson, we don't need you idiots screwing this place up like you did the Keys.

So you say.

So you say.

Enjoy Hudson. It's doggone redneck and they'll let you do anything you want to do up there. Toxic waste? No problem, mon.

I'm glad we finally

agree on something.
