Police station fire damages office
The Key West Fire Department on Sunday was still investigating the cause of an office fire the day before on the second-floor of the city's police department on North Roosevelt Boulevard.
The "small office fire" was stopped with the help of a built-in sprinkler system, said city spokeswoman Alyson Crean.
Smoke and water damaged at least one office. One police officer was treated at the local hospital for smoke inhalation and was released, said Crean.
The fire department arrived after smoke was discovered about 4 p.m. Saturday.
