Save Florida newborns with a simple heart test

A simple, cheap two-minute test detects serious heart defects in newborns. Florida lawmakers could save hundreds of lives each year, perhaps thousands, by requiring the test.

The pulse oximetry measures how much oxygen is in the blood by using a small light sensor that is taped around a baby's wrist, palm or foot.
