$5M 'takings' case may cost more

A potential $5 million judgement is not the only financial woe tied to the Galleon Bay takings lawsuit.

Monroe County has spent $857,000 defending the Galleon Bay lawsuit, which dates back to 2002. The vast majority of the money, $822,000, was spent on outside counsel. The first outside firm to litigate the case was Hugh Morgan and Jim Hendrick, according to County Attorney...
