Isle Style hosts artists, authors

Authors and artists will reunite this week to celebrate new beginnings and share their newest creations. Oakleigh Waits, owner of Isle Style Salon, Spa and Boutique, will host a reading, signing and art exhibit from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Isle Style, 1204 Simonton St., Key West.

Kelly Everman and Karen Gardner, who for years owned the popular Kindred Spirits boutique in Isle Style's current location,

Everman will read from her newly published "Wholehearted" while Gardner will return to Key West from Santa Fe, N.M. to share her creation -- Artful Tea and Artful She.

English photographer Deborah Schenck will showcase her work, and host Waits will unveil Shangri-la, a new addition to the Isle Style Salon, Spa and Boutique.

Lunch features updates

The Lodging Association of the Florida Keys & Key West will host its January membership luncheon at noon Friday at the Marriott Beachside Resort.

The luncheon will include the association's installation of officers, along with presentations by Key West Mayor Craig Cates and County Mayor George Neugent. Cates will present the State of the City and Neugent will discuss the State of the County.

Tuesday is the reservation deadline for the lunch. No-shows and cancellations made after Tuesday will be billed for the lunch.

KEY WEST

Food, wine festival takes shape

The fourth annual Key West Food and Wine Festival will take place Jan. 24-27 featuring roving tastings, decadent meals, desserts, wine pairings and educational food and wine seminars. Festival events take place at restaurants and bars throughout Key West and Stock Island, with the Hogfish Grill and Roostica Italian restaurant on Stock Island participating in this year's festival, which culminates with the Master Chef's Classic from 4-7 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Westin Key West Resort and Marina.

Event tickets are sold separately, and VIP and festival passes are also available.
