Is government really our mortal enemy?

In a recent letter, Mr. Robert Tollen referred to me as "want(ing) gun control." He believes the Second Amendment gives him the right "to buy and own weapons -- even weapons of war. It protects us from our own government."

The "government" is Mr. Tollen and me, our neighbors, the citizens of our city and state. Why...
