JIATF, Coast Guard seize a ton of cocaine

The crew of the San Juan, Puerto Rico-based Coast Guard cutter Sapelo seized 1.3 tons of cocaine worth an estimated $34 million off the coast of the Dominican Republic Saturday.

The Joint Interagency Task Force (JIATF) South, which is based at Truman Annex in Key West, responded with an aircraft during the operation, according to a Coast Guard press release.
