Truman waterfront bazaar OK'd
Open-air combination farmer's market, art fair gets 16-week trial run

The city of Key West has approved a brand-new event, the Bone Island Bazaar, which promises to bring an open-air market to the Truman Waterfront on eight consecutive weekends March 2 through April 21.

Led by Key West lawyer Candida Andriole, the event aims to give the island a combination farmer's market and art fair.

$100 PER DAY PER VENDOR????

Surely that was a misprint. This was touted as an outlet for the poor artists and craftsmen of the keys, $100 per day??

"Made in China"

Commissioner Weekly doesn't seem to have any problem with the "Made in China" crap that Ed Swift sells at his Mallory Marketplace.

Spottswood approved

Kindly change the story to reflect Spottswoods approval to this test. Hey, if it works he can whore some more from the once known public land given to the city for a dollar. These bastards make you sick.

This is a GREAT idea!

This is a terrific idea and it will do exceptionally well. There are a lot of talented people here that either don't have the money or the knowledge to market their stuff. They're artists and craftsman....not marketeers. This could end up being HUGE. Look at the Flea market in Big Pine. That stuff is all pretty basic, and some of it is even junk......but the place is flooded every seek during season. Something like this......will be even better! At the end of the day....if the public doesn't want the stuff.....they won't buy it. But if they do.....it's successful. This idea.....is great.

How refreshing

to read a positive response for a chamge! Don't pay attention to the usual negative trolls. IF they even venture out of their caves it will only be to buy a new crack pipe.

wrong, wrong, wrong

this is never going to work....the traffic is going to be a disaster and if it just another artsy/fartsy street fair it won't last. i would rather have the flea market "junk" than some prentious art that is over priced
