County canals get some needed help
Money from BP earmarked to clean up waterways, improve water quality

With Monroe County scheduled to break ground on its last major sewer project next month, the government agency has turned its attention to the next major water quality project -- cleaning up canals.

Crews have started surveying the county's 500 canals and will develop plans to improve their water quality.
