City considers Cabanas airport honor

The county Key West International Airport should carry the name of felled pilot Fred Cabanas to honor his dedication to aviation, according to a proposed resolution awaiting the City Commission next week.

Cabanas, 60, died Jan. 15 in a plane crash near Cozumel, Mexico, having grown into a Florida Keys-made icon for his prowess as an aerobatic aviator and the biplane ride...
