Arnaldo "Calvo" Caballero, Sr., 85, of Key West, Fla., died of heart failure on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami Beach. He was surrounded by family, which was his greatest passion in life. He worked at Winn-Dixie for years and owned Key West Janitor Cleaning. After retiring, he loved nothing more than working on small projects around the house and spending time with his grandkids. He was a loving and caring man. He leaves behind his beloved family and many friends.

Arnaldo was born in 1927 in Regla, Cuba, and moved his family to Key West in 1965. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Aida Caballero, sister Norma Caballero, daughter Vivian (Todd) Swofford, their sons Jaron and Tyler; son Arnaldo (Jaime) Caballero, Jr., their daughters Alexandria, Jacqueline (Tony) and Elizabeth; son Jorge Caballero, his children Fabian and Elizabeth; daughter-in-law Cecilia Sanchez, her children Ernesto, Jr. "Pico" (Hilda) and Lisette (Armando), and niece Sofia Figueredo.

He is preceded in death by parents Andres and Nieves Caballero, brother Danilo Caballero and his stepson Ernesto Sanchez, Sr. A service will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at Dean Lopez Funeral Home, 418 Simonton St., Key West, Fla.
