Credit Union sponsors 12 classrooms with $3K donation

Special to the Citizen

At a recent School Board meeting, the Monroe County Teachers Federal Credit Union announced the names of 12 Monroe County school teachers who received $250 each via the credit union's second annual "Sponsor A Classroom" contribution.

The funds help the teachers buy much-needed supplies and equipment to enhance the students' learning experiences.

Teachers Credit Union CEO Jerry Bolduc received numerous requests; and the board selected the winners based on merit and need.

"We just want to help in any way we can," Bolduc said.

The credit union is currently celebrating its 62nd anniversary of serving the educational community of the Florida Keys.

Award winners include: Tami Dannacker and Kerri McLean of Key West High School; Mary Jo Fry of Coral Shores High School; Katrina Madok and Lisa Morris of Gerald Adams Elementary School; Jalynn Frazier of Glynn Archer Elementary School; Stephanie Manaher of Horace O'Bryant Middle School; Kimberly Albury of Poinciana Elementary School; Wendy Houser of Stanley Switlik Elementary School; Janet Vazquez of Sugarloaf School; Cinda Bonanno of Key Largo School; and Marion Dell, who provides exceptional student education support services throughout the Keys.
