CYRIL 'BUDDY' JOHN BUDDE

Cyril "Buddy" John Budde, devoted husband, loving father, son and brother, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, from his home in The Villages, Fla., surrounded by his wife, sons and loving family members.

Buddy was born on the family farm May 6, 1936, in Beaverdam, Wis., to Lawrence and Sylva Rogers Budde, the third of eight sons and three daughters. He attended Beaver Dam High School, where he graduated in 1955, and shortly thereafter enlisted in the Navy. Buddy served aboard many naval vessels during his successful naval career, which included the USS Bushnell. It was while he was stationed in Key West that he met the love of his life, Estela Amparo Lopez. They had a whirlwind courtship and married on June 22, 1957. Buddy completed his service with the Navy and was honorably discharged as a SN E-3 in 1959.

In the years that followed, Buddy and Estela were blessed with four boys: Cyril Jr., Bert, Michael and Glenn.

Buddy and Estela enjoyed great success operating two businesses: Budde's Office Supply and Budde's Arts, Crafts and Hobbies.

A lifetime lover of the sea, Buddy enjoyed fishing with many friends throughout his life in Key West. He was happiest pulling in a huge fish on his hand-line aboard his 36-foot fishing boat, White Bunny.

Upon retirement, Buddy and Estela moved to The Villages, taking up golfing and spending time with new and old friends.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Sylva (Rogers) Budde; brothers Lawrence Budde Jr., Jerome Budde, Dennis Budde, George Budde and Paul Budde; grandson Bert J. Budde Jr.; nephews, Craig Budde and Todd Budde.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his beautiful wife of 56 years, Estela; sons Cyril Jr. (Ana) Budde, Bert (Josette) Budde, Michael (Angela) Budde and Glenn (Tabby) Budde; grandchildren Sondra Budde-Faltinowski (Guy), Pamela Budde, Jason Budde, Justin Budde, Cyril (Trae) Budde III, Spenser Budde and Paige Budde-Sams (AJ); great-grandchildren, Rayne and Gage Faltinowski; brothers Michael Budde Sr., Gerard "Gary" Budde, Julia (Earl) Steinhorst, Margaret "Maggie" (Charles) Sejud, Agnes "Aggie" (Bob) Allen; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A heartfelt thanks to our close family friends Jerry and Beatrice (Bea) Conkle, we love you. We would also like to extend an eternal and forever hug to Lea, Penny, Terry and Jean and the caring staff of Cornerstone Hospice. Your compassion and kindness will always be etched into our hearts.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159, with Chaplain Isaac B. Deas II. Buddy will be laid to rest at a private family gathering at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, FL 33513.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local hospice.

We miss so much our loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and man of the sea. Te quiero mucho!!
