The citizens of Key West must demand action now to prevent a future outbreak of dengue. In 2009 there were 22 dengue cases in Key West, and in 2010 Key West had 66 cases due to dengue virus serotype 1 (DENV-1) transmitted by Key West's Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.
