Commercial shoots planned for Keys bridges

Two television production firms are planning commercial shoots on Florida Keys bridges today and Thursday and are likely to result in short-term delays for motorists.

Off-duty Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies will be directing traffic.

Today, producers with a fragrance firm, New York-based Little Bear, Inc., plan to shoot on Channel 5 and Long Key bridges intermittently both days from the late morning to early evening hours. Production durations are between four and eight minutes.

On Thursday, RSA films, a Los Angeles-based firm, has plans to film an automobile on the Seven Mile Bridge for up to four, five-minute intervals each hour between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Weather and other unforeseeable factors could delay or postpone production, according to Rita Troxel of the Florida Keys Key West Film Commission.

NO MORE EVENTS

No more events that shut down or reduce traffic to a crawl during season. If these companies and event planners can't or don't want to do their events and filming off peek hours and dates then screw them. Take it someplace else. The LOCALS are getting VERY tired of all the "impacts", it's one right after another.
