FEMA removes homes from list
Good news: Notices sent out to 1,713 property owners

More than 1,700 Key West property owners soon will receive notices in the mail that their land will be taken off a controversial list that prohibited development.

The city mailed out notices Wednesday alerting people their properties are off the "FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) List" and they will now be able to develop on their properties.

What a relief for a lot of home owners and the key deer will survive and expand as well as other species do to careful conservation plans in place. Tom Barken, Islamorada

At this point we don't need any more Key deer. Overpopulation of any species is a recipe for disaster.

The FEMA list was not about the environment

It was to steal land....most people sold their vacant lot to the county for peanuts cause of this list. This whole butterfly thing is pure B/S.

And what was the motive?

Why did they want to steal people's land -- are they going to resell it at a profit?

They're going to build

new settlements like you guys do.
