Thomas "Jack" Coon, 74, of Cudjoe Key and Hollywood, Fla., peacefully passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at his Hollywood residence. Jack was born in Barberton, Ohio, on Sept. 12, 1938, to Thomas W. Coon and Irene Hall Coon (both deceased).

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of almost 40 years; his son Zachary Coon Justice; his daughter Yvonne Paige Coon; his sister, Judith Ferrero, and brother-in-law Louis P. Ferrero; brother-in-law Edward J. Segno and sister-in-law Shelley Segno; nephews, Justin Ferrero and Daniel Segno; nieces, Juliette Jarrard and Jamie Segno; great-nieces, Rae, Alexandra, Reece Jarrard and Banks Ferrero; and great-nephew, Finn Ferrero.

Family previously deceased are son Thomas Fred Coon, daughter Reva Dawn Coon and in-laws James and Philomena Segno.

Jack served in the Navy as a radar specialist. Then, in the mid-70s, after becoming a mechanical contractor, he and his friend Robert Placa Sr. started Airreo Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

In 2000, Jack retired to Cudjoe Key, where he enjoyed boating, fishing, cycling and spending time with friends. He will be remembered as a kind, hardworking man with beautiful blue eyes. A celebration of life will be held in Cudjoe Key at a later date.
