$11M in property taxes at stake
Proposal would exempt Navy housing partnership from Monroe County rolls

Two state legislators last month filed bills that, if passed, could prevent the Monroe County Property Appraiser's Office from collecting $11.3 million in back taxes from a company that partners with the Navy to provide housing.

Have to breathe and pay taxes.

Judge Audlin is a reasonable man. I hope he finds for the County

and requires this payment of back taxes and penalties.The company CLEARLY knew they were avoiding taxes on this thing.

While we're at it, let's require payment from Swift, Belland and their companies for all their back taxes. That is many, many millions as well. If these low-life people would pay their taxes, the county and city would be better off. Those like Swift and Belland ruin our quality of life, and then can't even pay their leases and taxes. I wish someone would explain to me why the taxpayers are forced to subsidize these low-class thieves and their businesses.

Yep, the good old Republican lobby machine working at its finest. Maybe we should see how much campaign donations came from Balfour Beatty, its board, and executives to these two fine elected representatives. And his bill retroacts right back to when Monroe County wants to collect tax. Smells rotten just like most of the bills filed by the party in Tally.
