Chris Belland's - "Hindsights & Insights"

Ha, ha, ha! We were just kidding! Ha, ha, ha! No, seriously, we were!

Some of the words that come to mind are: Shameful! Disingenuous! Sneaky! Insincere! Confused! But the one that really seems to stick with me most is one from my youth, which is Indian-giver.

Of course, I am talking about the Navy's sudden, unexpected and, for Key West, totally disastrous decision to renege on returning the Truman Waterfront to its rightful owners, the people...

The Citizen should not be giving space to brats and crooks

who refuse to pay their own way in this city. How many millions do Swift, Belland and their companies owe Monroe County in taxes? Many, many, many millions, last I checked. When was the last time that HTA paid their license fees and rent on properties owned by the city? Last I checked they were at least a year behind. They've been behind on this for about 15 years. Then let's not forget the foreclosure on their '99 year lease' at the Steam Plant? Bet he's still behind on his payments on that too. What about all the law suits against them? What about the foreclosures? Belland does not deserve space in our local paper, to whine and complain about his 'disappointments' and his feeling he's been betrayed.

What a childish ploy!!!! You are trying to stir up a lot of ****

when there is none to stir. Surely you're aware that NO ONE in Key West wants your pathetic ducks. You have continued to cram the tackiest of tacky down the throats of the taxpayers of Key West, while you refuse to pay your own debts, taxes, rents, licenses and leases.

The Truman Harbor was never part of the gift from the Navy. You just continue to think that it's all yours for the taking, don't you? Stop using the term 'us' with your petty cry that we have been wronged by the Navy. The Navy has never done anything but GOOD for this community and this most recent move is MORE GOOD for those of us who are sick of your ticky-tacky 'infotainment'. If only the Navy had the means to get rid of the tacky gift shops, the trains and trolleys, we might have a liveable town again.

Chris, you don't understand...

The public supports the Navy's decision. Now man-up like the Spottswoods did and stop your whining.

While shopping at Publix

While shopping at Publix yesterday I noticed they have an extraordinary selection of cheese to go with Chris Belland's WHINES. Seriously, man up. You're embarrassing yourself.
