3 top schools aides gone
Gentile, Kinneer, Allen not renewed

Three members of the School District's executive team won't return after this school year ends in June, according to an email Superintendent Mark Porter to School Board members Friday.

Porter would not comment Friday night when contacted by The Citizen, but two sources close to the district confirmed that the three are Ken Gentile, director of finance and performance; Michae...

Clarification

The point is Cheryl Allen had no role in hiring Ken Gentile. The board hired her without including HR in the process. Had she been involved Gentile would not have been hired. She has always been very professional in my dealings with her.

Here you go again picking on the Archer and Henriquez family.. Amber made an A school of Key West High. Mike and Fran did the same things. Amber has stood by her friend Randy when all others ran away. He has been punished, so why continue to herass the man. She has cleaned up the athletical program from all the nasty coaches. All three take care of kids. Jealousy is a terrible thing. If they all weren't delivering the As that would be one thing but all of them are. Stop blaming Randy. He does not even know Gentile or Kineer. Would like to see one become under the superintedant instead of Axeford or even make Christine MacPherson second. These people no how to run the schools, let the have it and stop making it politically. Keep it going Potter.

Your spelling and grammar are atrocious. Your punctuation is often misplaced. I wish when defending people in the educational business, their defenders would use proper English skills, it would be taken more seriously. I agree Axeford should be AXED as well, but certainly you can not disagree with Kineer and Genteel's removal. I do not know much about Ms. Allen, but if she were head of HR, it appears she botched the hiring of a CPA without a CPA, that in the real world holds consequences. When the hiring of this person, without the proper credit incurs a $36,000,000.00 error, who should be responsible? Never mind Who is your friend, look at the numbers and the facts.

Short term memory?

If you remember, the board paid an outside agency to hire Gentile. The Board decided to hire him even after the head hunting agency said that they couldn't verify his CPA status. Cheryl Allen had nothing to do with Gentile being hired. As for other employees for the district, each department interviews and hires their own employees. HR usually sits in on the interview as one of three panelist and gives their opinion, but the only real job is to verify their application and background. The board thought that they could bypass HR and use an outside head hunting firm to hire Gentile. The board always has to approve every new employee. Always. This is the information I got when I asked a certain MCSD employee and the newspaper already published a story about Gentile and the outside firm.

I am very curious

I have been following these school district stories since the Acevedo crimes. During that time I received tremendous help from Mrs. Allen. My experiences have been completely different than what you lead on. I have no idea what your situation was or is but you have my curiosity. It's one thing to use words like bully or bubba but please give me an example. A name, place, time, anything. I promise to look in to it and let others know. If you do your research, I am the first one to show that Gentile was not a CPA and I did it in the comments forum under an article about the MCSD. I am an accountant and I am not a CPA. I knew I could not use the CPA designation and I didn't think it was right that he was. That was my first comment. I am interested if you actually have any substance or just blowing hot air. I agree that Cheryl is tough as nails but not a bully. Think about anyplace you have worked in the past.... HR usually isn't very popular because they have to do the stuff no one else wants or can't.

Amber has lost or forced out

Amber has lost or forced out over fifty students that would hurt the ranking. Athletes are not even registered or enrolled and their grades are changed so they can play. It is all about fudging the data. It is not an A plus school, and it is being run like a sorority house.

This is awesome. I do not know why with Monique's and Randy's changing of hiring qualifications, and then Gentile misrepresenting himself, how Allen as head of HR never once was under the radar. Good ridden s, Thank you Porter for cleaning house. Three district jobs could mean up to nine teachers back in the classroom. Every sycophant appointment was Allen;s fault since she had the power to deny them as head of HR.

Its about time someone finally took action concerning Gentile! He has been proven over and over to be dishonest , and untrustworthy. I am astonished that he has the nerve to say " discrimination" when he- if I'm not mistaken- was the religious bully who compelled others to get on their knees and pray in his office. I wonder if he would be surprised to know... this was coming? Watch out school district and tax payers, he is sure to fill his pockets on the way out, if he hasn't already stolen enough with his bloated salary for being completely incompetent .

Top School Aids

So sorry to see you leave Mrs Allen. But there is a list of more that should go. Clean out the Managers in Transportation as well. There are more in the frying pan then you think Mr Porter. Clean up the Bubba and give the people a chance that has the Degrees they went to College for. And all the relatives related in the same School buildings. And things will run alot better for us. And no one will back up the wrong. Also check backgrounds on the Employess as well.

Really, so the superintendent would not disclose who the “aides” were, but someone else did. Not sure how many people are in his inner circle, but seem he has a rat that takes the cheese outside the “confidential” room. I guess John Dick got the “Head” he wanted.

He was given a very lucrative 3 year job contract, by lying on his resume. Other candidates, who did not lie, were passed over. How is that "not profiting?" Mr. Porter, this is the advice your expensive lawyers are giving you? How can Dirk Smits and Scott Black be minding the school district legal issues when they personally are overseeing all of Vernis and Bowlings hundreds of BP claims? Three top level, salary wise, admin employees are down the floor and out the door. Congrats to Supt Porter who found those things attached to his body that allows a person to make the tough decision. If I have the precedure correct, he recommends the chopping block to the School Board, they have the final say. It should be at least 4 to 1, the Capt, Capt with the Hat, the Dick and the Prin voting Yes with only the conch fed Robby, I'm sorry, with his foot in the mouth, voting NO, he needs those conch votes. The board could hire Stuart Kessler, he's always there and could do all three for the price of one. Just Sayin.

Hire Kessler? You do realize he was disbarred right? He likes to talk about law school and all those years practicing law but he usually fails to mention the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania said he can't do that stuff anymore. Sounds a lot like how Gentile is a "CPA"...

Some one without the drive

Some one without the drive to get a regular job. Living off his teacher wife's salary is not someone we want into a district that is renowned for laziness.

This is proof positive that Mr. Porter knows what's going on in the school district already! Many employees have been afraid to blow the whistle on Cheryl Allen do to her unfair practices with employees due to her position. Apparently Porter can't be fooled! Bravo!

Dr. Porter, we are here for you. The Board will not dare act against you. The taxpayers, parents and students have endured the incompetence and malfeasance of the school district and school board for years. Dr. Porter, press on, your back is covered. Stand tall for the sake of righteousness; you will not be abandoned.

My original hope that Porter would figure out what was going on here and make the necessary changes has been renewed! I am so excited to see what else is to come. It is time for the MCSD to support education and drop these non-working executives and replace them with competent hard working individuals that have a clue as to what they are there to do. Now, start working on the principals that are driving away the good teachers. We cannot afford to lose any more, they are the ones that actually do the educating and are completely overwhelmed by the oppressive, overbearing, non-academic Conchtocracy that is this pack of lower keys principals.
