Mr. Linhardt clearly got his information for this piece directly from the White House Talking Points -- otherwise known as "Lies, Lies, and more lies! -- designed to scare the bejesus out of the uninformed-as-long-as-I-get-mine. While the military does take the biggest hit from Sequestration, it is a 2.4% cut in future GROWTH over a 10 year period. The President was playing a game of chicken and lost. The Republicans passed legislation to minimize the effects and Mr. Obama and his lacky, Harry Reid, refused it and DID NOTHING! Yes, there will be some cut-backs, but not as draconian as they want you to believe. It's all in how they approach it. Yes, Sequestration is STUPID! But something HAD to give with the spending run a-mok! What's it gonna take for the Prez to admit that this country has a spending problem? Why do you think China is buying up all the real estate and industry in this country? Because they have the disposable income to do so. The U.S. can't do anything to prepare for the future, because of the huge debt and the interest payments on that debt. IF we don't get our fiscal house in order soon, we'll need to start teaching our children and grandchildren to speak Mandarin!
