Police stables still not so green
No money, no budget means no composting -- as of yet

This sounded like a solid plan three months ago.

Instead of spending $4,500 a year to truck horse manure from the police mounted patrol stable to the mainland for incineration, it would all be composted on-site in a new three-bay shed built and paid for by volunteers.

We need horses?

Like we need horses on our crowded Old Town streets?

Next thing we know, one will clomp all over a bum and then our politicians will feel so guilty that we'll have to build housing for the bums in a nice upscale neighborhood.

When the horse clomps by, the dogs in the neighborhood

go crazy and don't calm down for an hour. Exactly why do we need these animals? They can't be happy in the heat and on the pavement in Key West. And the cops just use it as a 'do nothing' job. I see them riding their horse and texting all the time. I even have pictures of it.

So much for KWPD efficiency and budgetary management.
