Brunch benefits art trip

Café Sole, 1029 Southard St., will hold a fundraiser brunch for One World One Canvas (OWOC) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

A donation of $30 for the brunch will go toward buying art supplies and food for OWOC's next trip to Haiti, set for March 25.

The brunch is open to the public and includes music by Libby York and Bobby Nesbitt, who will play music from musicals, Broadway hits and the Great American Songbook.

Offerings will include soup, "Eggs Benedict Sole," with crab meat, asparagus and hollandaise, or eggs with skirt steak, or a vegetarian version, waffles with fresh fruit or a salad, yellowtail snapper and mango salsa and more. Dessert is included. Call

Montessori school open house

Montessori Children's School of Key West will hold its annual Open House for prospective new students from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday on its campus, at 1221 Varela St. in Key West.

Interested families can learn about the school, tour the classrooms and meet the staff to gain appreciation for Montessori materials and the hands-on learning environment. Teachers, staff and current families will be available to answer questions. Enrollment information for the fall semester for children 18 months old through kindergarten age will be available. Families who enroll during the event will receive half off the application fee. Also, the playground will be open for the children.

Power company offers discount

Enrollment for Keys Energy Services' discount program for residential customers who are senior citizens or disabled veterans is open through March 31. Customers previously in the program must requalify.

Once qualified, a $9.53 discount will be applied to their monthly energy bills in 2013.

The customer must be at least 62 years old on the date of application. Eligible veterans must be deemed totally or permanently disabled on the date of application. Annual household income for 2013 cannot exceed $30,396, a figure based on maximum Social Security benefits paid.

Applications must be completed, signed and returned by March 31; the application must be notarized if not completed at Keys Energy.
