This week's FAQ:

Are they hiring local workers?

The contractor is required to hire at least 12 trainees for the project. The best way to do this is to hire from the local community, says FDOT. If no locals qualify, other sources will be used. Anyone wishing to qualify may download employment information and an application from www.fdotmonroe.com/keywest and come to the construction office, 3142 Boog Powell Court, Key West.

For more information, visit www.fdotmonroe.com/keywest or contact spokesman Dean Walters at dean@swcinc.net or 305-849-1474.

the project is one third done

why havent they already hired (trainees).are they waiting to use them to finish it in 2015???

12 trainees ?

Hiring 12 people, of any skill set, would more than quadruple the total number of workers on the job.

Hiring locals

I hope they're not paying by the hour....a trainee would starve to death!!
