Petulant Child

Poor Ed Swift. HRH Swift is not used to anyone telling him what to do. From his Key Haven mansion, far removed from the impact his ventures have on Old Town, Ed is used to pulling the strings. Ed cries that The Navy is taking back The Basin! Guess what Ed, you, Paneco and Rossi have already taken the park from locals who were dumb enough to think this park would actually be for them. Dumb enough to think that this Waterfront is for THE PUBLIC, not for your fellow Royals The Spottswoods to build a marina for Billionaires, or for you to launch your Ducks, or as a welcome mat for millions of cruise ship hordes. Yes Ed, locals had this park taken away and turned into yet another tourist trap for you to exploit. That is why most locals I know are thankful for The Navy's decision and praying for them to take back The Mole Pier as well. There are thousands of ways to fund a local, simple park. A park with trees instead of amplitheatres, a park with walking paths instead of Powerboats, a park for the residents of this island free of Watersports Booths and Trolleys. For example, how about a 5 cent City tax on all drinks? How about a $1000 annual fee on each tour vehicle you clog our streets with? Karma is a bitch Ed and now you know what it feels like to have someone take back something you were promised. The main difference is most Old Town residents are not running around crying like petulant children. We are used to being shafted. How does it feel?
