JACK P. GIBSON

JACK PHILIP GIBSON 77, OF KEY WEST, FLA., PASSED AWAY ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13, 2013, AT MT. SINAI MEDICAL CENTER, MIAMI BEACH, FLA. HE WAS BORN ON APRIL 30, 1935, IN KEY WEST TO THE LATE PHILIP W. AND HILMA (ALBURY) GIBSON.

JACK WAS THE OWNER AND OPERATOR OF THE GIBSON HOTEL ON FLEMING STREET, UNTIL IT WAS SOLD TO MICHAEL EDEN AND BECAME THE EDEN HOUSE. JACK THEN WORKED FOR THE MONROE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE AS A SECURITY OFFICER FOR 16 YEARS.

JACK WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, AND SISTER VIRGINIA GIBSON (CLAUDE) VALDEZ. SURVIVING IS HIS SON, JIMMY ERIC GIBSON OF GAINESVILLE, FLA.; BROTHER, BENJAMIN EUGENE (SUZETTE) GIBSON OF KEY WEST; SISTER RUTH (JOHN) GIBSON JONES; NIECES DONNA, CHRISTINE, NANCY, TRACY; NEPHEWS PHILIP, CHRIS; AND HIS DEVOTED DOG, BUBBA.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 4 P.M. MONDAY, MARCH 18, 2013, AT THE DEAN-LOPEZ FUNERAL HOME, 418 SIMONTON ST., KEY WEST. BURIAL WILL BE IN KEY WEST CITY CEMETERY. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, MEMORIALS MAY BE GIVEN TO THE SPCA. THE DEAN-LOPEZ FUNERAL HOME IS ENTRUSTED WITH ALL FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS.
