FWC officer is critically injured
24-year veteran was driving patrol boat, responding to routine call when ejected

A 24-year veteran state wildlife officer was critically hurt Thursday and airlifted to Miami after he was thrown from a patrol boat near John Pennekamp State Park.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Officer Wade Hefner was alone, driving a 32-foot Olympia dual-outboard patrol boat when he was ejected at 12:10 p.m., said spokesman Officer Bobby Dube.

Odd. A guy who makes his living on the water, in a boat on his

own? This is truly odd. Someone wasn't doing their job.

There has been a enormous amount of debris

in the water lately; he could have hit anything from a pallet to a drum. Which could have caused him to be ejected from the boat, let's not judge before the facts come out. CTO, you need to cut back on the caffine.
