Orlando (Cantifla) Paez passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013. Orlando was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, on Feb. 25, 1935, and arrived in Key West in February 1967. Orlando was very dedicated to his children, grandchildren and extended family and friends. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Dr. Felix Varela No. 64 for over 20 years. Orlando was loved by everyone and his smiling face will be greatly missed.

Orlando was preceded in death by his parents, Encarnacion Paez and Aurelia Abreu; children Orlando Jr. and Beatrice; brothers Joaquin and Andres (Delfin); and sister Fransisca Paez.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Celina Paez; his children Louis and Carlos; brothers Heriberto and wife Cary, Lucio and wife Soledad; sisters Dulce Lazo and husband Rafael, Rosa Labrador, Marta and Julia Paez; grandchildren Louis Jr., Isabel, Ryan, Camryn and Rocko; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Dr. Calleja's office, the DaVita Dialysis Center (especially Dale, who always had him smiling) and the LKMC third floor nursing staff.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the Deal-Lopez Funeral Home, 418 Simonton St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013. Following the graveside service at the Key West Cemetery, there will be a gathering for family and friends at 10 Amaryllis Drive. The Dean-Lopez Funeral Home is entrusted with all funeral arrangements.
