New school sex-ed programs set up
Womankind grant helps pilot curriculum to be taught in Monroe County

Reported infections of gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia among Monroe County teens rose 404 percent between 2006 and 2011 -- a time when rates across the state were edging lower.

That's according to Betsy Langan, the Womankind grant program director who has been working to bring a comprehensive sex education curriculum to the Monroe County School District.
