Amendment would exempt military, not civilians

A state senator has narrowed the scope of his bill that would provide property-tax exemptions to private companies that partner with the military on housing projects.

Sen. John Thrasher, R-St. Augustine, filed an amendment to SB 354 on Wednesday to require that the properties would only be tax-exempt if they house military personnel, not civilians.
