KEY WEST: Excavation of old sewer pipes at the Key West library will close its parking lot starting Monday. There will be no access to the back door or the book drop in the parking lot. Inside, restroom access will be limited and there will be loud jackhammering inside and outside the building. Some programs, especially those planned for the auditorium, will be canceled or relocated.
The library has started its annual amnesty period for overdue fines, which will continue for the duration of the project. All late fees will be waived, though replacement charges for lost items still apply. Staff and contractors will do their best to accommodate those who need to use the back door's handicap entrance. They request 48 hours' notice when possible. For more information, call 305-292-3595.
