WINIFRED SHINE FRYZEL

Winifred Shine Fryzel, 93, of Key West, peacefully passed on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.

She was born in Thomasville, Ga., and moved to Key West in 1925. Winifred was a well known educator in both elementary and high school who taught for 37 years and retired in 1987.

Throughout the years she was active in many community clubs, including Audubon, Garden Club, The Maritime Society and Sunshine Shares Club. She was also the archivist for St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was the author of a published book that describes the history of the church and its stained glass windows.

She is preceded in death by her beloved sister, Virginia Shine Humphrey. She is survived by her daughter Judy (John) Carlock; grandchildren Todd (Nicole) Wright, Tim (Lisa) Carlock, Jeff (Tamera) Carlock, Christie Carlock Holst, and Nikki Carlock; her niece Paula Gregg; nephews Phillip and Robert Humphrey; and 13 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20 at St. Paul's.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Restoration Fund (stained glass windows).

She will be especially remembered for her teaching, story telling, love of children and vivacious spirit for life. Many thanks for the love and support to all her friends and family who have touched our hearts through this difficult time.
