All-or-none position hinders sensible law

In a recent letter to the editor, Marilyn Holz tried to draw an analogy between guns and a variety of defective products. Unfortunately her analogy is deeply flawed. The guns that have recently horrified the country were not defective, they functioned exactly as designed. The problem was in the way they were used.
