BP dollars could make a big difference
Group wants to identify, restore and monitor Keys' banks and channels

The edges of banks and deep channels off the Florida Keys -- with their hard driving currents -- are a haven for such prized game fish as permit, tarpon and bonefish.

They are unique habitats where the shallow edges of seagrass meadows meet the sandy, limestone bottoms, which also makes for ideal living conditions for spiny lobster, crabs and other small fish.
